Roles at ARJ Removals

Removal Porter (Entry Level)

• Load/unload, carry furniture, protect items, assemble/disassemble basic furniture.
• You’ll need: good fitness, teamwork, punctuality, great attitude.
• Nice to have: basic tool skills (Allen keys/hand tools).

Packer

• Pack belongings safely, label boxes, prepare inventory.
• You’ll need: attention to detail, care with fragile items, neat handwriting.

3.5t Van Driver / Team Leader

• Drive Luton/box vans, route planning, on-site customer contact, lead a small crew.
• You’ll need: Full UK driving licence (B), clean record (max 6 points considered), confident city & motorway driving.
• Nice to have tail-lift experience.

Subcontractor Crews

• Well-presented teams with own insured vehicle(s).
• You’ll need: Goods in Transit & Public Liability insurance, Right to Work in the UK, uniformed presentation, references.

What We’re Looking For

• Right to Work in the UK (passport/BRP/visa).
• Reliable & customer-focused communication and professionalism.
• Physically fit – comfortable lifting and carrying with correct technique.
• Clean & tidy – take care of customers’ homes and our kit.
• Fluent English (spoken) for safety and customer service.
• DBS check may be requested for certain jobs.

Training & Safety

• Induction covering manual handling, PPE, safe use of straps, blankets and dollies, and protecting property (walls, floors, bannisters).
• Toolbox talks, risk assessments and method statements for every job.
• PPE provided (gloves, hi-vis, uniforms ).
• Regular vehicle & equipment checks.

Pay & Benefits (typical)

• Porters from £—/hour, Packers from £—/hour, Drivers from £—/hour (set your rates here).
• Overtime/early starts/late finishes enhancements.
• Tips go to the team that earned them.
• 28 days holiday pro-rata (incl. bank holidays) for PAYE staff.

Typical Day

• Meet at first address → safety brief → load, protect and secure → travel → unload and position items → furniture reassembly → sign-off and smiles. Every move is different—no boring days here.
